Skip McDonald - Skip McDonald IS Little Axe. originally from Dayton, Ohio Skip played the blues from the age of 8 (1957), although by the time he was 12 years old he had opted to perform doo-wop. From there he worked closely with Adrian Sherwood on many of projects for the On-U Sound label, as well as spearheading the band Tackhead and working with Living Colour. He has been the prime mover behind Little Axe since around 1992, the debut album "Wolf That House Built" was a personal take on blues and dub, and was released to critical acclaim in 1994. Skip has continued to fuse blues and electronic music into this decade. Along with Skip we welcome back Rupert Orton from Not The Same Old Blues Crap (www.punkrockblues.co.uk) who will talking about the month-long Spitz Festival of Blues which will feature Little Axe among a large and diverse range of shows.
