Dave Kusworth / Darrell Bath - we welcome our first live guests under sad circumsances. founder Swell Map/Jacobite/solo artist Nikki Sudden sadly passed away on Sunday following a show in New York - a great loss. Nikki was due to play the 12-Bar club this evening with Dave Kusworth as the Jacobites and we had invited them on to todays show. Dave is going to play the gig tonight as a tribute to Nikki and has agreed to come in to Resonance to remember Nikki, he will be joined by Darrell Bath who accompanied Nikki when he came in at the beginning of the year.

ECCE - Nicholas Lisher is a London based shoegazing electronica act, formerly working as the Ex-Girlfriends. a single on awkward silence recordings is out soon and two tracks can be found on 99outof10 recordings sampler.

Skip McDonald - Skip McDonald IS Little Axe. originally from Dayton, Ohio Skip played the blues from the age of 8 (1957), although by the time he was 12 years old he had opted to perform doo-wop. Along with bassplayer Doug Wimbish and drummer Keith LeBlanc formed the house band for the pioneering rap label Sugar Hill, providing the music for some of the most seminal records of the era by Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaata et al. From there he worked closely with Adrian Sherwood on many of projects for the On-U Sound label, as well as spearheading the band Tackhead and working with Living Colour. He has been the prime mover behind Little Axe since around 1992, the debut album "Wolf That House Built" was a personal take on blues and dub, and was released to critical acclaim in 1994. Skip has continued to fuse blues and electronic music into this decade. Along with Skip we welcome back Rupert Orton from Not The Same Old Blues Crap (www.punkrockblues.co.uk) who will talking about the month-long Spitz Festival of Blues which will feature Little Axe among a large and diverse range of shows.
